Tasks

  • Review, examine, calculate and authorize insurance claims
  • Consult lawyers, doctors or other individuals to discuss insurance claims
  • Consult with claimants, accident witnesses, doctors and others
  • Determine validity of claims
  • Examine records and reports to determine insurance coverage
  • Inspect automobile, home or other property damage
  • Investigate circumstances surrounding insurance claims
  • Negotiate settlement of claims
  • Prepare adjustment reports
  • Take statements

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses

  • Provincial Insurance Adjusters' Licence
  • Membership in the Insurance Institute of Canada
  • Membership in the Canadian Independent Adjusters' Association
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)
